Nile river cruise prices

The facts below come from the tour operator Egypt Escapes and gov.uk, read on 15 October 2026. Egypt Escapes is a seller describing its own holidays. Its list is one example, not the whole market.

What is the average cost of a Nile cruise?

There is no single average worth quoting. The price turns on four things: the ship, the cabin, the month and what is included.

Two quotes that look far apart may not be for the same thing. One may include flights, and the other may not. So compare what each price buys before you compare the prices.

How much does a Nile cruise cost in Egypt?

Start with the base fare, then add what sits outside it. On its Nile cruises page, Egypt Escapes lists these as extras:

• excursions, sold as a lighter set and a fuller set
• an all-inclusive drinks upgrade
• Abu Simbel
• Wi-Fi
• travel insurance

The seller shows its prices on its own page. They change, so read them there and note the date.

Check whether the visa is in the quote. If it isn't, the fee is US$30 on arrival. That's per the FCDO's Egypt entry requirements on 15 October 2026. At Cairo airport, the digital visa is US$36 and card only.

Why the word "holiday" hides different totals

Egypt Escapes' cruise-and-stay page lists a cruise-only holiday and cruise-and-stay holidays. It says all of them include flights and transfers.

So the same word covers quite different totals. A cruise-only holiday with flights is not the same as a cruise fare on its own. Ask which one a quote is.

Ask what the quote is per person, and for how many nights. Ask whether it assumes two people sharing a cabin.

What makes a fare look cheaper?

A lower fare can leave more out. Check the list above against each quote:

• Are excursions in it, or extra?
• Is the drinks upgrade in it?
• Is Abu Simbel in it?
• Are flights and transfers in it?
• Is Wi-Fi in it?

Add the missing items to the lower quote. Only then does the comparison mean anything.

How much does a dahabiya cruise cost?
