If heat is your worry, avoid late April to mid October. AmaWaterways gives 32 to 41°C on average for late April to June, and again for September to mid October. December to February is cooler. But nights can fall to about 2 to 7°C, so pack a jacket.
These figures come from two sellers, read on 15 October 2026. They are averages and ranges, not forecasts.
What is the best month to cruise the Nile?
It depends whether heat or cold bothers you more. The two sources split the year like this.
The hot months: late April to mid October. AmaWaterways' Egypt guidance gives 32 to 41°C on average from late April to June. It gives the same range for September to mid October. The tour operator Egypt Escapes' travel guide adds that summer can pass 45°C.
The cold-night months: December to February. Nights can fall to about 2 to 7°C, that guidance says. It advises a light jacket. Egypt Escapes puts winter averages in the twenties, with chilly evenings.
So to keep out of the heat, look outside late April to mid October. If you choose winter, pack for cold nights.
The two sellers measure different things. One gives an average range, the other how high summer can go. So don't line their numbers up month against month.
What is the weather like on the Nile in November?
Neither source gives a November figure. It sits between the hot range, which ends in mid October, and the cold nights from December. Ask the seller what the days and nights are usually like for your week.
Is April a good time to visit Egypt?
Late April sits inside the 32 to 41°C range. Neither source covers early April. If heat tires you, ask what time the excursions start that month.
What months should I avoid?
Steer clear of late April to mid October if heat is the problem. Avoid December to February if cold nights are. The averages hide the extremes, too: one afternoon can be hotter than the figure, and one night colder.
